Instilling Anticipation
As parents and educators we want our kids to be well-rounded not only academically but emotionally and spiritually, as well. Today, I
read about another area that we may have to work at to incorporate in our children’s lives, and that is the area of anticipation and waiting. Most of us are not very good at waiting, and in today’s day and age we usually don’t have to wait very long.
Leigh does a great job of describing the problem and some of the consequences of growing up in the “Me Generation.” With microwaves and instant dinners, fast food, cell phones, e-mail, internet, everything comes without much wait. Check out her article and consider ways you can give your kids the gift of anticipation.
